Goose fat was
used for colds and coughs, especially in children. Heated goose fat was applied
to the chest during a cold or cough, and it helped to expectorate thick phlegm.
Goose fat
contains a large amount (20%) of palmitic acid, due to which it has beneficial
properties. Goose fat also has an antidepressant effect. When used on the skin,
it protects against frost and is also useful in the treatment of mild frostbite.
Goose fat was also used to treat wounds.
How to use:
Apply to the
chest and feet 3 times a day. Suitable for children under 3 years old. Also
suitable for protecting the skin from frost.
